This was installed in Kamiyama (‘Gods Mountain’), in Shikoku, Japan. The setting was a puppet theatre, below the main shrine and across the river from the onsen. Chan built the lighting system and, during the installation period, would sometimes build a small fire and make coffee by some prehistoric method, to the sound of chirping frogs and under the worldly gaze of white dog Taiyo.
In memory of dearest Chan-san, who died in December 2008.
